What is Encaustic Photography?
Encaustic Photography is a very unique medium that allows a photographer and artist like myself the opportunity to combine both mediums into a beautiful work of art.
I combine the printed portrait with a wood panel and then paint with Encaustics on top of the image. This process is very extensive and takes alot of time between layers of encaustics and shellac burn.
I also enjoy creating photo transfers with portraits. With this method I transfer the ink from the portrait directly onto the wax instead of submerging the print into the wax. They are both equally beautiful but offer something quite different in style.
This method has been in my world since 2003 when I started creating art with the Encaustic Medium. It is constantly changing and forever challenging and I absolutely love it.
Creating custom works of art for my Boudoir Clients adds so much to their Boudoir Experience and truly makes me over joyed to know they are able to preserve their legacy in such a monumental way. It brings a sense of true art to the experience when you get to hang a commissioned portrait on your wall and know that you worked so hard to sit for that work of art to be created.
Encaustic Portraits are also perfect for preserving your family or children in a beautiful way. This style of photography creates a custom work of art for your family to enjoy for many years to come.
